SAL Zones, Advanced Aircraft Technology sign MoU for aerospace logistics hub in Saudi Arabia

The agreement builds on SAL Zones’ efforts to develop an integrated network of logistics zones and infrastructure that can serve specialised and high-value sectors.

SAUDI ARABIA – SAL Zones has signed a memorandum of understanding with Advanced Aircraft Technology to explore collaboration on developing specialised logistics infrastructure and solutions for aviation and aerospace projects in the Kingdom.

The MoU was signed on the sidelines of the Saudi Warehousing & Logistics Expo 2026 in Riyadh. The agreement seeks to leverage SAL Zones’ capabilities, assets and infrastructure alongside Advanced Aircraft Technology’s expertise and specialised operational requirements across the aviation and aerospace sectors.

The areas of collaboration include developing specialised facilities for storing aircraft spare parts, engines, equipment, and related materials, as well as purpose-built facilities tailored to Advanced Aircraft Technology’s project requirements.

In addition, the collaboration will explore integrated services covering storage, transportation, distribution, cargo handling, customs-related services, and re-export operations.

Investment and leasing opportunities

The MoU includes exploring investment and leasing opportunities within the SAL Logistics Zone, including the potential development of an integrated logistics hub at Mulham to support aviation and aerospace projects.

The agreement builds on SAL Zones’ efforts to develop an integrated network of logistics zones and infrastructure that can serve specialised and high-value sectors.

The collaboration also aims to strengthen the competitiveness of the Kingdom’s logistics sector while supporting the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Transport and Logistics Strategy.

By fostering tailored logistics solutions, the companies aim to strengthen the nation’s industrial competitiveness and develop a sophisticated transport network that can support high-growth technological industries.

SAL Zones is a subsidiary of SAL Logistics Services, specializing in the development of integrated logistics zones across the Kingdom.

The subsidiary was established in October 2025 and signed a Shariah-compliant credit facility agreement worth SAR 2.5 billion (US$667 million) with Saudi Awwal Bank in August 2026 to support the development of logistics zones across Saudi Arabia. The facility carries a 15-year tenor and is supported by a corporate guarantee issued by SAL.

Finally, this partnership aims to develop specialised infrastructure for Saudi Arabia’s aviation and aerospace sectors, with both organisations focused on tailored logistics solutions and industrial competitiveness.
