Bergeijk Logistics acquires Visser Transport Agencies, strengthens Austria, Slovenia, Croatia presence

NETHERLANDS – Bergeijk Logistics has acquired Visser Transport Agencies, bringing both organizations under the Bergeijk Logistics name to strengthen its service offerings and market position in Austria, Slovenia, and Croatia.

Visser Transport Agencies (VTA) brings extensive experience, a strong network, and additional logistical capacity, with integration to take place over the coming period.

Strategic Expansion into Southeastern Europe

The acquisition is intended to strengthen the company’s service offering and market position, particularly in Austria, Slovenia, and Croatia.

For fresh produce exporters and logistics operators in Central and Southeastern Europe, the combined entity offers expanded coverage for perishable cargo moving through the Alpine-Adriatic corridor.

For instance, Austria serves as a key transit hub for refrigerated shipments between Northern and Southern Europe, while Slovenia’s port of Koper provides access to Mediterranean trade lanes.

Leadership Continuity and Operational Integration

VTA owner Frederik Visser will remain involved in the organization, joining Bergeijk Logistics as Operations Manager and becoming part of the management team alongside Frans van Bergeijk and Jennifer van Dam.

This transition ensures leadership continuity during the merger, with Visser bringing deep relationships and operational expertise from his previous ownership role.

Existing services will continue as usual, with Bergeijk Logistics maintaining its focus on reliable, high-quality logistics solutions. Although the internal structure is evolving, the company guarantees that customer services will remain uninterrupted.

Long-Term Growth Ambitions

The integration of VTA into Bergeijk Logistics B.V. will take place over the coming period. This consolidation marks a major step towards achieving the firm’s long-term expansion goals in European markets.

VTA’s established network in Austria, Slovenia, and Croatia provides Bergeijk with immediate coverage of the Alpine-Adriatic region, where significant flows of perishable cargo move between Mediterranean ports and Central European consumers.

On the other hand, retaining Frederik Visser as Operations Manager preserves key customer relationships and operational knowledge.

In addition, the acquisition positions the combined entity for further growth in Southeastern Europe, a region with rising demand for temperature-controlled logistics services.

Finally, by integrating VTA’s resources and expertise, Bergeijk Logistics enhances its logistics capacity and service quality, better supporting customers while pursuing long-term expansion goals.
