Nearly 30,000 lbs of Argentine beef recalled in US over inspection failure
Products were distributed to retailers and distributors in Florida and Texas.
USA – Nearly 29,628 lbs of raw beef imported from Argentina has been recalled after entering the US without undergoing the required reinspection by federal food safety authorities.
The US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) said the products were handled by Corte Argentino USA LLC, an establishment based in Aventura, Florida, with the issue identified during routine inspection activities.
The recalled beef was produced between May 15 and May 20, 2026, and carries use-by or freeze-by dates ranging from September 15 to September 20, 2026.
Beef products affected
The recall covers several boneless beef cuts produced by Argentine processor FrigorIfico Gorina SAIC, including Top Sirloin Butt, Eye Round, Topside Cap Off, Flat and Knuckle.
The products are packed in cardboard boxes of varying weights and are marked with Argentine establishment number “EST. N° OF. 2025” and shipping mark “26644-AA”.
According to FSIS, the affected shipments were supplied to distributors and retailers in Florida and Texas, meaning the recalled products may have entered commercial supply chains in both states.
The agency said the recall was prompted by the lack of US reinspection rather than a reported contamination incident, and no confirmed illnesses or injuries have been linked to the products.
FSIS has advised businesses and consumers to check beef products against the recall details and avoid using any items covered by the action.
The recall highlights the inspection requirements that apply to imported meat entering the US, with imported products subject to federal verification before they can enter domestic commerce.
