Arkay Beverages launches US$150M funding round to drive global expansion of alcohol-free spirits

Arkay targets global market leadership in the booming non-alcoholic beverage space with new funding and major strategic partnerships.

JAPAN – Arkay Beverages, a leading innovator in the alcohol-free spirits industry, has announced the opening of a US$150 million funding round at a US$1.5 billion valuation.

The funds are intended to accelerate global expansion and enhance the company’s product development and marketing efforts in the fast-growing zero-proof drinks category.

Founded in 2011 by entrepreneur Reynald Vito Grattagliano, Arkay Beverages was the first company to develop a true non-alcoholic whisky alternative.

Since its inception, the brand has expanded its portfolio to include a full range of zero-alcohol spirits and ready-to-drink mocktails. In 2024 alone, the company sold over 10 million bottles and is currently present in more than 35 countries.

According to Arkay, the new investment will support its strategic expansion into high-growth regions, including North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

It will also fund the launch of new product lines, particularly functional beverages and adaptogenic drinks that align with emerging health and wellness trends.

In a significant development, one of Japan’s largest spirits companies is in advanced discussions to acquire a 10% equity stake in Arkay for US$150 million, according to the alcohol-free spirits major .

The potential partnership is expected to offer strategic market access in Asia and bolster Arkay’s leadership in the global alcohol-free sector.

Arkay is offering accredited investors the opportunity to invest through the purchase of Class B shares as part of a private placement. A Private Placement Memorandum (PPM) is currently being finalized and will be available exclusively to qualified investors.

“Our goal is to offer the world a healthier, safer, and smarter way to socialise without compromising on taste or style,” said founder and CEO Reynald Vito Grattagliano. “Arkay is not just a beverage brand — it’s a movement.”

The company’s fundraising effort coincides with a broader shift in consumer behavior. The global market for non-alcoholic spirits is projected to exceed US$240 billion by 2035, driven by increased health awareness, changing generational preferences, and evolving global regulations.

Earlier this month, Arkay launched a new line of alcohol-free flavored ‘vodka’ alternatives in seven varieties: mandarin, vanilla, lemon, mango, coconut, strawberry, and apricot.

Made with 100% natural ingredients, the products are halal-certified, vegan, keto-friendly, and gluten-free, with a retail price of US$39.99 per one-litre bottle.
