Grupo Solave invests in 818 Tequila’s sales venture while CBC names Larry Goodrich as its new chief executive.

USA – Calabasas Beverage Company (CBC), the sales venture formed by 818 Tequila and ready-to-drink (RTD) supplier Sprinter, has announced a new round of investment alongside the appointment of a new chief executive officer.
The investment comes from the Pérez family, owners of Grupo Solave, the Mexican group that produces 818 Tequila in Jalisco. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
The move makes Grupo Solave a part-owner of 818 Tequila, a decision both companies said will deepen their partnership and reinforce a shared commitment to quality and sustainable production.
According to CBC, Grupo Solave has been cultivating agaves for four generations and is recognized as the largest family-owned agave grower in Mexico.
In a statement, Grupo Solave highlighted the significance of the partnership, noting that 818 Tequila became its first maquila brand in 2021. The company said the relationship has since evolved into joint growth, built on trust and a shared vision.
“Today, we are taking another step forward by consolidating a strategic investment in Tequila 818, to build a continued solid and sustainable future with a positive impact on the community and the Tequila industry,” Grupo Solave said.
CBC appoints new CEO
Concurrently, CBC has appointed Larry Goodrich, the company’s chairman, as its new CEO.
Goodrich previously served as CEO of 818 Tequila during its formative years, helping guide the brand through its early growth and expansion.
CBC noted that his return brings proven leadership and a strong historical perspective on the business, positioning the company for its next phase of development.
Founded in 2021 by American media personalities Kendall and Kylie Jenner, 818 Tequila has expanded rapidly beyond the U.S. market. The brand entered the UK in 2023 and launched in Germany in December 2024 through a partnership with Berlin-based Jaguar Mezcal Boutique (JMB).
The tequila line, named after Jenner’s California area code, currently includes four products: Blanco, Reposado, Añejo, and Eight Reserve. CBC continues to serve as the commercial arm representing both 818 Tequila and Sprinter as they expand internationally.
