Monthly berth calls at DGT declined from 34 in May to 19 in August.
The expanded cooperation forms part of Hapag-Lloyd’s broader terminal strategy.
The African Development Bank has projected that the terminal will increase its annual container-handling capacity from 700,000 to more than 3 million TEUs.
The company is prioritizing the transport of essential goods, including food and medicine.
Initial freighter flights will target high-demand regional sectors, scaling frequency as operational capacity grows.
