I.T.S unveils new crossbreed fruit flavour line to tap into hybrid fruit trend

I.T.S describes the range as 100% natural, BRCGS AA certified, carbon neutral, and developed for versatility across beverages, snacks, bakery, and dairy products.

UK – Innovative Taste Solutions (I.T.S) has launched a new “crossbreed fruit” flavour range, inspired by the growing consumer fascination with hybrid fruits that blend familiar tastes into bold, new experiences

The clean-label, allergen-free flavour line captures the excitement of real fruit crossbreeds, providing a natural solution for brands seeking to innovate across the food and beverage industry.

Founder Mike Bagshaw explained that while hybrid fruits like pineberries and tangelos have been making waves in UK supermarkets, particularly in outlets such as Waitrose, real crossbreeds face challenges of availability, seasonality, and cost.

“Crossbreed fruits are trending because they show that fruit doesn’t just have to be a boring old apple or banana,” said Bagshaw. “These exciting, crossbred fruit flavours provide great scope for innovation in drinks, snacks, bakery, or dairy.”

The newly launched flavour collection enables manufacturers to capture the buzz of hybrid fruit trends without relying on seasonal supply chains.

Each variant replicates the essence of popular crossbreeds, delivering a balance of familiarity and novelty.

Among the flavours is Melon Berry, a refreshing melon base enhanced by sweet berry notes; Tangelo, a citrusy blend of tangerine and pomelo; and Limelon, combining sharp lime with mellow melon for a crisp, cooling finish.

The collection also includes Blood Lime, noted for its ruby-red depth and citrus sophistication; Pineberry, a tropical fusion of strawberry and pineapple; Boysenberry, a rich, dark berry with a jammy character; and Peach Berry, a smooth blend of juicy peach and ripe berry sweetness.

I.T.S describes the range as 100% natural, BRCGS AA certified, carbon neutral, and developed for versatility across beverages, snacks, bakery, and dairy products.

The company highlights that crossbreed flavours resonate with key consumer trends such as curiosity, premium appeal, and visual distinctiveness, all of which enhance product storytelling and social media engagement.

With more shoppers seeking adventurous yet recognizable taste profiles, I.T.S’s crossbreed fruit flavours offer brands a way to stand out in competitive markets.

Bagshaw added that the new line will allow manufacturers to “move fast and capture the buzz,” helping them deliver the next wave of flavour innovation without the supply and cost challenges of real hybrid fruits.
