Seara launches ready-to-eat protein meals targeting health-conscious consumers

BRAZIL – Seara has unveiled a new line of ready-to-eat meals under the name Seara Protein, each portion containing 30 grams of protein.
The company said the launch is designed to capture rising demand from consumers who want both convenience and nutrition in their daily diets.
Speaking to Bloomberg Línea, Rafael Palmer, Seara’s Prepared Food Marketing Director, explained that the firm views this category as a growth avenue in response to health-driven purchasing trends.
According to Palmer, the company is prepared to create new product segments when demand signals shift, which was the case with protein-focused meals.
The introduction of Seara Protein follows recent developments within parent company JBS, which has been widening its reach in both local and international markets.
In Brazil, JBS meat brand Friboi has started an express delivery program in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro that promises restaurants, butchers and retailers faster access to fresh beef.
During the initial months of operation, the program handled more than 2,000 deliveries in São Paulo alone, moving upwards of 500 tons of beef.
The deliveries generated revenue of over US$2.9 million (R$16 million), according to company figures.
JBS indicated it is planning to expand the service into other Brazilian states in the coming months as logistics capacity becomes a bigger part of its domestic strategy.
Alongside these efforts, the company is also extending its international reach, with shipments of beef now heading to Vietnam for the first time.
An initial load of 27 tons was dispatched from the Friboi unit in Mozarlândia, Goiás, after both Mozarlândia and Goiânia plants received approval from Vietnamese regulators.
The launch shipment was marked at a ceremony in Rio de Janeiro attended by Vietnam’s Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính and Brazil’s Agriculture Minister Carlos Fávaro.
The event reflected growing trade ties between the two countries, with Vietnam emerging as an important market for beef exporters.
Vietnam, which has a population of more than 101 million, imported nearly 300,000 tons of beef and buffalo meat in 2024, driven by demand from its expanding middle class.
