Harvard-trained strategist takes helm at 35-year-old Nairobi food brand behind jams, sauces and chutneys.

KENYA – Ma Cuisine Limited, a subsidiary of Bio Food Products Ltd, has named Isabella Soehn as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective November 2025.
Soehn joins from Highlands Drinks Ltd, where she served as strategic advisor since July 2025 after previously holding the position of Chief of Staff. In those roles she supported the CEO on strategy, operations, and execution.
With more than seven years of experience in fast-moving consumer goods, agriculture, and sustainable food systems, Soehn has worked across seven African countries, collaborating with executives, investors, and government bodies to deliver data-driven strategies, cost efficiencies, and operational enhancements.
A graduate of Harvard Kennedy School with a Master of Public Administration in International Development, she also holds dual Bachelor’s Degrees in Economics/Mathematics and International Relations from the University of Southern California.
Commenting on her appointment, Soehn said she is excited to lead a company focused on local food manufacturing. “The goal ahead is clear: help scale a well-regarded brand to earn its place on every table,” she stated.
Founded in 1982 by Nicole and Colin Church, Nairobi-based Ma Cuisine has built a 35-year reputation for all-natural, artisanal fine foods.
Starting with jams and preserves, the company has grown into a full portfolio of premium condiments, sauces, chutneys, baked goods, and ready-to-eat products using high-quality ingredients and traditional methods.
The appointment signals the next phase of expansion for the Kenyan manufacturer, which supplies both retail and wholesale channels nationwide.
