Former interim leader to steer company’s next growth phase in aquaculture and fish tracking technology

USA – Innovasea, a global provider of advanced aquatic systems for aquaculture and fish tracking, has confirmed Mark Jollymore as its permanent Chief Executive Officer.
Jollymore, who took on the role of acting CEO in May, will assume the position immediately, continuing to oversee the company’s operations and strategic direction.
According to Innovasea, his appointment marks the beginning of a new stage of expansion as the firm focuses on developing technologies that promote regenerative aquaculture and sustainable fish research.
Don Grant, Managing Partner at Cuna del Mar and Chairman of Innovasea’s Board of Directors, said Jollymore’s leadership had already guided the company through a crucial period of transition.
Grant added that the board expects the company to build on its current momentum and broaden its impact in the aquaculture technology sector under Jollymore’s leadership.
In his remarks, Jollymore said he looked forward to leading Innovasea at a time when the aquaculture industry is facing new environmental and production challenges that demand technological innovation.
He said Innovasea’s position in the market enables it to develop tools that help balance seafood production with ocean health, biodiversity, and global food security.
Jollymore emphasized that his immediate goal will be to strengthen the company’s innovation pipeline and enhance customer engagement to meet the needs of aquaculture producers and fish-research organizations.
Before joining Innovasea, Jollymore served as President and CEO of Amirix Systems, where he oversaw the development of Vemco into a global leader in acoustic fish tracking.
He became part of Innovasea in 2017 following its acquisition of Amirix and has since led efforts to advance its fish tracking and environmental monitoring systems.
Under his leadership, the company introduced NexTrak, which it describes as the most sophisticated acoustic telemetry system currently available for aquatic research.
The same technology forms the basis of Innovasea’s aquaMeasure environmental sensors, a core feature of its precision aquaculture platform used for real-time data collection and management.
Jollymore holds an electrical engineering degree from the University of New Brunswick and an MBA from Saint Mary’s University.
He is also a certified member of the Institute of Corporate Directors and sits on various boards involved in ocean technology and workforce development.
In 2024, he was appointed Chair of the Board of Directors at the Centre for Ocean Ventures and Entrepreneurship (COVE), a Canadian hub dedicated to advancing marine innovation.
