Cargo airline focuses on improving handling of meat, frozen foods, and vulnerable goods through new technical support deal

UAE – SolitAir, a UAE-based cargo airline, is expanding its capabilities in transporting meat, chicken, fish, and other frozen goods by entering a technical services partnership with Eight Wings Aerospace.
The deal will allow Eight Wings to oversee SolitAir’s technical procurement, repair coordination, logistics, and asset management, including Power-by-the-Hour (PBH) operations.
This move is aimed at boosting efficiency and reliability in transporting time-sensitive perishables and fragile goods such as pharmaceuticals, e-commerce shipments, and hazardous materials.
SolitAir currently operates five Boeing 737-800 BCF freighters from its logistics hub at Dubai World Central, where its 220,000-square-foot facility supports daily express services.
Two more freighters are expected to join the fleet by the end of August 2025, as the company targets a total of 20 aircraft by 2027 to serve over 50 cities within six hours of Dubai.
The company’s narrow-bodied aircraft are designed to handle temperature-sensitive and specialised cargo, with the new partnership expected to improve fleet availability and reduce downtime.
Partnership details and operational impact
Eight Wings Aerospace will deliver end-to-end support to the airline, covering logistics, repairs, procurement, and PBH operations tailored to the growing needs of SolitAir’s fleet.
According to SolitAir’s CEO, Hamdi Osman, the partnership will help maintain service reliability and control operational costs as the airline scales its network across the Global South.
Eight Wings Managing Director Luliia Zhuravel said their support model is built on real-time execution and flexibility, aligning with SolitAir’s rapid expansion plans.
The partnership comes as SolitAir positions itself as a key player in air cargo services between Dubai and trade routes in Africa, the Middle East, the Subcontinent, and Central Asia.
The cargo carrier operates on a B2B, airport-to-airport model, serving freight forwarders, SME clients, integrator airlines, and e-commerce firms looking for mid-mile transport.
By outsourcing core logistical and technical functions, SolitAir intends to focus on its transportation services while ensuring aircraft performance and availability are kept consistent.
The company said the cooperation with Eight Wings is expected to streamline maintenance and improve lifecycle management for its fleet.
SolitAir is based at Dubai World Central (Al Maktoum International Airport), from where it runs scheduled daily cargo flights across high-demand routes in the Global South.
The airline’s service model prioritises fast and efficient handling of cargo that requires precision and care, including perishable food, high-value items, and sensitive products.
