MEXICO – Starbucks Mexico has expanded its beverage portfolio with the launch of Spicy Lemonade Refreshers available at all its locations in Mexico starting July 22, 2024, for a limited time.
The new offerings include the Spicy Mango Dragonfruit and Spicy Strawberry Açaí Refreshers.
According to Starbucks, the Spicy Mango Dragonfruit Refresher blends the tropical taste of dragonfruit with Starbucks’ spicy chili powder. The Spicy Strawberry Açaí Refresher combines strawberries and açaí berries with the same signature spice.
Bibiana Rosique, Starbucks Mexico’s Marketing Director, highlighted the growing popularity of swicy (sweet and spicy) flavors worldwide.
“Around the world, this flavor trend has become popular in many cuisines, appearing in a wide variety of culinary preparations, from sauces and dressings to appetizers and main dishes. While some people might find the combination of flavors unusual, swicy foods are a delicious way to expand the boundaries of flavor as we know it,” Rosique said.
She emphasized Starbucks’ aim to blend the exceptional Starbucks experience with the unique culture and preferences of customers in Mexico.
This introduction follows Starbucks’ recent expansion into the energy drinks market with the launch of Starbucks Iced Energy Beverages in June 2024.
Additionally, Starbucks recently appointed Ricardo Arias-Nath as the new Senior Vice President of Starbucks Latin America and the Caribbean, succeeding Tom Ferguson.
Arias-Nath will oversee 1,600 stores across more than 20 markets, focusing on expanding the Starbucks Experience and maintaining the company’s strong regional connection.
