Uganda Waragi unveils new premium packaging across range

Uganda Waragi refreshes its packaging with a modern premium design featuring national symbols and gold accents while retaining its original triple-distilled formula across all variants.

UGANDA – Uganda Waragi has introduced a new packaging design across its product portfolio as part of activities marking World Gin Day, refreshing the look of one of Uganda’s most recognised spirits brands.

The redesign covers the Premium, Lemon and Ginger, Coconut, and Pineapple variants. The updated glass bottles now feature a gold cap and a refreshed label design showcasing the Crested Crane flying through bold red “UG” lettering.

The packaging also includes premium finishing elements and Monde Selection award badges.

Uganda Breweries said the new look is intended to reflect the brand’s Ugandan heritage while presenting a more modern and premium identity in the market.

“Uganda Waragi has always been the ultimate spirit that binds us together,” said Roy Tumwizere, Head of Core Mainstream Spirits at Uganda Breweries. “This new look aims to capture the modern, creative, and expressive heartbeat of Uganda while honouring the brand’s heritage and our golden timeless legacy.”

The company emphasised that the product formulation remains unchanged despite the visual update. Uganda Waragi will continue to be produced using its established triple-distilled formula across all variants.

According to Uganda Breweries, the gold cap represents pride and unity, while the Crested Crane and “UG” branding reinforce the drink’s strong national identity.

The refreshed packaging will be distributed across bars, supermarkets, and authorised retail outlets in the coming weeks.

The company said the redesign is part of a broader effort to modernise the brand while preserving its long-standing heritage and consumer recognition in Uganda’s spirits market.
