Union Meat Group receives top recognition for sustainable meat production in East Africa

TANZANIA – Union Meat Group has been recognized at the East Africa Food & Beverage Awards for its efforts in sustainable production and international trade of high-quality meat products.

The company received the title of “Excellence in Sustainable Production and Global Export of Premium Quality Meat Brand of the Year” during the awards ceremony held at Serena Hotel in Dar es Salaam.

The event brought together food industry leaders from across the region and featured Dr. Ashura A. Katunzi, the Director General of the Tanzania Bureau of Standards, who congratulated Union Meat Group for maintaining high standards in product quality and global competitiveness while urging other companies to follow similar practices.

During the ceremony, Union Meat Group’s Chief Executive Officer thanked the organizers for the recognition and reaffirmed the company’s focus on producing halal-certified meat that meets international standards.

The company stated that the award reflects its continued investment in sustainability and innovation across its operations, from livestock management to export logistics.
