The transaction will combine two established poultry businesses, expanding operations across Australia and strengthening production and customer capabilities.

AUSTRALIA – US-based meat company OSI Group has agreed to merge its Australian operations with poultry producer Cordina Group, creating a larger business with an expanded presence across the country’s poultry sector.
Under the transaction, alternative investment firm PAG will divest its majority stake in Cordina Group, which will be combined with OSI’s Australian subsidiary, Turosi.
The new business will operate as Cordina OSI and will be jointly owned by OSI and the founding Cordina family.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
PAG said the deal will create a “larger Australian poultry business with an expanded product offering”. The combined company will have operations across Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland, with an “enhanced capability” to serve large national and multinational customers.
As part of the new governance structure, Louise Cordina, a 30-year industry veteran, will serve as chair, while Anne-Marie Mooney will become chief executive officer.
OSI Group President and COO Mark Richardson said the combination would bring together the strengths of both businesses.
“By combining Cordina’s strong local heritage and customer relationships with OSI’s global industry expertise, operational best practices and international food manufacturing capabilities, we believe the business will be well positioned to better serve customers and pursue its next phase of growth across Australia,” Richardson said.
PAG invested in Cordina Group in 2022 to support its next phase of growth. During its ownership, Cordina expanded its infrastructure, increased revenues and strengthened its capabilities in Australia’s growing value-added poultry segment.
PAG also supported investments in Australia’s food supply chain, including an A$80 million breeder farm development, an A$75 million hatchery, processing facility expansions and automation initiatives.
Louise Cordina said PAG’s involvement had helped establish a strong foundation for the company’s next phase.
“We are grateful for PAG’s support and partnership which has been pivotal for the business and fundamental in positioning Cordina Group for its next chapter of growth,” she said.
The transaction remains subject to regulatory approval and is expected to close by the end of 2026.
OSI entered the Australian market in 1996 through a joint venture and formed Turosi in 2018 following the merger of OSI International Foods (Aust) and family-owned Turi Foods.
