Brenntag opens Jakarta nutrition innovation center
The new Jakarta facility will provide formulation, testing, pilot production and technical training for food and beverage manufacturers across Indonesia and Southeast Asia.
INDONESIA – Brenntag has opened a new Nutrition Innovation & Application Center in Jakarta, Indonesia, strengthening its technical support and product development capabilities for food and beverage manufacturers across Indonesia and Southeast Asia.
Located at The Gallery CIBIS Park, the facility provides formulation development, application testing, laboratory analysis, pilot-scale production and technical training. Its UHT pilot plant enables customers and supplier partners to test, validate and optimise product concepts before commercial production.
The Jakarta site is the 31st Nutrition Innovation & Application Center in Brenntag’s network. It combines local application expertise with access to the company’s broader technical capabilities and supports customers across beverages, bakery, confectionery, convenience foods, dairy, meat, poultry and seafood processing, nutraceuticals, sauces and condiments, specialised nutrition and plant-based products.
Kenneth Keh, Brenntag Regional President, Nutrition, Asia Pacific, said Indonesia is strategically important to the company.
“Indonesia is one of the most dynamic food and beverage markets in Southeast Asia and a strategically important market for Brenntag,” Keh said. “This investment strengthens our ability to support customers with the technical expertise and market insights needed to develop differentiated products, respond to evolving market trends, and capitalize on growth opportunities across the region.”
The centre is supported by technical and application specialists who will work with customers on product formulation, performance optimisation and pilot trials. Brenntag said the facility is designed to help manufacturers develop market-ready solutions while supporting collaboration across the nutrition value chain.
Winnie Koh, Brenntag Innovation & Application Director, Nutrition, Asia Pacific, said the centre would connect technical expertise with practical product development.
“The center strengthens our ability to translate technical expertise into practical product solutions,” Koh said. “Customers can engage directly with our application specialists to evaluate formulations, optimize performance, and validate concepts through pilot trials before commercial production.”
The opening follows Brenntag’s EcoVadis Gold medal, recording 84 points, its highest score to date.
Brenntag also reported second-quarter 2026 sales of €4.3 billion, an 11% year-on-year increase. Operating gross profit reached €1.146 billion, up 19%, while gross margin increased 1.7 percentage points to 26.9%.
The investment is Indonesia is one of many happening in the region. Earlier this month, dsm-firmenich opened a new office in Jakarta and completed an expansion of its Karawang manufacturing facility in Indonesia, bringing new application capabilities and increased production capacity.
