Boparan Private Office acquires Germany’s Heidemark

Deal subject to European Commission approval

GERMANY – Boparan Private Office, a United Kingdom-based investment vehicle, has agreed to acquire German poultry processor Heidemark.

The business is set to join the Netherlands-based Storteboom Food Group once regulatory clearance is secured.

The transaction will see Heidemark, which processes chicken and turkey products, integrated into Storteboom as a standalone operation in Germany while remaining under its existing name, leadership team, management structure and workforce.

Based in Ahlhorn in Lower Saxony, Heidemark was purchased from the Kalvelage family and is expected to contribute to Storteboom’s footprint across European poultry markets following completion of the deal.

Boparan Private Office, owned by entrepreneur Ranjit Boparan, holds Storteboom Food Group within its European division, positioning Heidemark alongside existing operations in the Netherlands, Poland and Ireland.

Heidemark chief executive Andres Ruff will continue to lead the company, stating that the new ownership provides an opportunity to expand activities across Europe while maintaining current production sites and preparing for additional investment.

Ranjit Boparan said the German processor aligns with the group’s focus on automation, innovation, productivity, and net-zero objectives, while former owner Christopher Kalvelage indicated that staff and management would remain in place under the new structure.

Veli Moluluo, chief executive of Storteboom Food Group, described the purchase as part of a long-term European plan aimed at increasing processing capacity, advancing product development and improving supply chain transparency across the region.

Completion of the acquisition remains contingent on approval from the European Commission, and until that process concludes, the companies will continue to function separately.
