Illycaffè reports 19% revenue growth in H1 2026

Illycaffè posted strong first-half growth, supported by rising sales volumes, expanding production capacity and continued momentum across key international markets.

ITALY – Italian coffee company illycaffè has reported a 19% increase in consolidated revenue to €373 million (US$430 million) for the first half of 2026, driven by strong volume growth across its key markets, particularly Italy and the United States.

The company said all of its major markets delivered double-digit growth during the period, with revenue in Italy increasing by 19%, North America rising by 19% and Europe advancing by 21%.

Illycaffè also recorded double-digit growth across all major sales channels compared with the same period in 2025. Last year, the company generated consolidated annual revenue of €700 million (US$807 million).

Despite continued inflationary pressure from elevated green coffee prices, earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) increased by 10% year-on-year to €53 million (US$61 million).

Chief executive Cristina Scocchia attributed the performance to the company’s long-term strategy and investments in growth.

“We closed an extraordinary first half, with revenues and EBITDA both increasing by double digits. This result reflects the quality of our strategic decisions and the value of our people, and demonstrates the Group’s ability to grow even in a particularly challenging market environment,” Scocchia said.

She added that the company had achieved an important milestone in expanding its production capabilities.

This half-year period also marked a fundamental milestone in the plan to double Trieste’s production capacity with the start-up of the new roasting plant which, together with the multi-year strategic agreement with Westrock in the United States, will enable us to support the growth we expect in the coming years,” she said.

The company is also pursuing a broader expansion strategy in the United States through a partnership with Westrock Coffee. While illycaffè had previously considered establishing roasting operations in the country, it has instead chosen to maintain production in Trieste while collaborating with Arkansas-based Westrock on packaging and distribution activities, particularly for ready-to-drink coffee products.

Coffee prices remain above historical averages despite easing from the record levels reached last year. Market conditions continue to be influenced by supply concerns in major producing countries.

Giuseppe Lavazza, chairman of the Lavazza Group, told the Financial Times that the industry required “at least two strong harvests in Brazil and Vietnam” to rebuild global inventories depleted by recent supply disruptions.
