Italcanditi, CSM Ingredients team up to form Vitalfood brand

ITALY – A new brand, Vitalfood, has emerged from the collaboration between Italcanditi and CSM Ingredients, aiming to make a mark in Europe’s food ingredient industry. 

Combining decades of experience, the partnership focuses on providing solutions for various sectors, including bakery, dairy, gelato, and fine pastry.

With over 70 years of experience in producing fruit-based preparations, hydrated creams, and candied fruit, the two companies bring a range of expertise to their new venture. 

Vitalfood will operate from two production sites, one in Pedrengo, Italy, and the other in Goes, Netherlands, with a combined production capacity of 150,000 tons annually.

The facility in Goes, in operation since the 1950s, is known for its production of fruit-based products for dairy and non-dairy industries. 

Meanwhile, the Pedrengo plant, which has been running since 1960, is recognized for its work in fruit preparations and hydrated creams. 

Together, these locations will employ around 500 people across a total production area of 101,000 square meters.

Vitalfood will offer a broad product range, including fruit-based preparations, candied and semi-candied fruit, marron glacé, glazes, mirrors, hydrated creams, and savory sauces. 

In addition to these products, the brand intends to provide customized solutions that reflect growing market demands for protein-rich, vegan, and sugar-free options.

The newly formed brand seeks to enhance its customer service and supply capabilities by expanding its international presence and responding more quickly to client needs. 

Both companies involved believe the collaboration will enable them to support industrial and artisanal producers in meeting changing consumer preferences.

Italcanditi, founded more than 60 years ago, has grown beyond its original focus on candied fruit to become a significant player in the global fruit-based ingredients market.

Through acquisitions like Rubicone and Comprital, the company has expanded its offerings in semi-finished products for gelato and pastry industries.

Luxembourg-based CSM Ingredients complements Italcanditi’s strengths with its global presence and innovation-driven approach. 

With several production plants and research centers, CSM Ingredients provides tailored solutions to the food industry, serving clients in 120 countries.
