Initially developed for space exploration, freeze-drying technology intensifies flavour while creating a light, crispy texture that appeals to modern snackers.

UK – Confectionery company Langtins is building momentum for its Noomz brand just weeks after its July debut, unveiling three bold new freeze-dried sweet flavours: Berry Blast, Sour Worms and Watermelon.
The expansion follows strong consumer and retailer demand for the Noomz line, which initially launched with eight unique varieties, including Fruit Bites, Lemon Bites, Mini Rocks, and Sour Bites, and has quickly established a presence in the fast-growing freeze-dried confectionery segment.
Noomz employs a freeze-drying process that removes moisture while preserving the texture, structure, and flavour of the sweets. Initially developed for space exploration, this technology intensifies flavour while creating a light, crispy texture that appeals to modern snackers.
The process also extends shelf life and helps sweets maintain their shape and vibrant colour, factors that have made freeze-dried treats a social media sensation among young audiences.
All products in the range are Halal certified and packaged in resealable pouches to lock in freshness and provide on-the-go convenience.
The latest additions are priced at £2.49 (US$3.25) per pack. They are now available through convenience and forecourt retailers nationwide, including EG On The Move, Rontec Forecourts, Valli Forecourts, and select One Stop and Nisa stores.
Mubarak Isap, managing director at Langtins, said the expanded portfolio demonstrates growing confidence in Noomz.
“We’ve received a fantastic response to Noomz from customers and retailers alike, with many repeat orders from our stockists. We’re excited to keep the momentum going with three new bold flavours. We hope customers enjoy our latest innovative twists on iconic sweet shop favourites,” Isap stated.
The July launch marked Langtins’ first move into freeze-dried confectionery, one of the fastest-growing segments in the sweets industry, with Noomz positioned as an innovative platform to reimagine household favourites.
Isap previously noted that freeze-drying is both a viral online trend and a snacking innovation that resonates with consumers looking for extreme flavour and a novel crunch.
By introducing new flavours so soon after launch, Langtins is signalling plans to scale rapidly, broaden its retail presence, and bring freeze-dried sweets into the mainstream.
The brand aims to combine nostalgic taste profiles with modern convenience, meeting evolving consumer preferences for fun, flavourful and portable snacks.
