New Buxar facility to create 1,000+ jobs and expand regional supply.

INDIA – SLMG Beverages Pvt. Ltd., India’s leading bottling partner of The Coca-Cola Company, has inaugurated a state-of-the-art greenfield beverage manufacturing facility in Nawanagar, Buxar, Bihar.
The company said the facility, established with an investment of Rs 1,200 crore (US$131.15M), will significantly strengthen beverage production capacity in eastern India.
Located in Nawanagar, the plant will serve as a primary supply hub for Bihar and neighbouring regions, including Eastern Uttar Pradesh.
Addressing the launch event, Samrat Chaudhary, Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar and Chief Guest at the ceremony, highlighted the project’s economic significance.
“The industrial transformation we are witnessing in Bihar today is the result of initiatives like this state-of-the-art Rs 1000+ crore facility established by SLMG Beverages Pvt. Ltd. This will not only strengthen the state’s economy but also create new employment opportunities at the local level,” he said.
Spread across approximately 65 acres, the Buxar facility features seven high-speed production lines with a combined installed capacity of more than 5,000 bottles per minute.
According to the company, the plant will manufacture carbonated soft drinks, juices, packaged drinking water, and aseptic beverages.
The Ladhani Family, owners of SLMG Beverages, described the project as a transformative milestone.
“This facility represents a transformative investment for both the Company and Bihar, combining world-class technology, large-scale capacity, and sustainable operations to generate employment and economic opportunities while strengthening the partnership with The Coca-Cola Company.
“It is indeed a big day for Bihar and particularly Buxar as it gets a new bottling plant for Coca Cola with an investment of Rs. 1200 crore by SLMG Beverages,” the family said.
Sustainability is central to the plant’s design, with around 40% of the land dedicated to green belt development.
The facility incorporates advanced wastewater treatment and reuse systems, energy-efficient lighting, and rice husk biofuel to reduce reliance on fossil fuels. It is also equipped with automated machinery, AI-enabled quality control systems, and digital monitoring technologies.
The project is expected to generate more than 1,000 direct jobs and thousands of indirect employment opportunities across logistics, distribution, and ancillary sectors, with a focus on local hiring and gender diversity.
SLMG Beverages, part of the Lucknow-based Ladhani Group, is the largest Coca-Cola bottler in India and among the top 15 globally.
In 2024, it acquired rights for the Bihar market from Coca-Cola’s bottling arm HCCBL as part of the company’s global asset-light strategy.
