JBS is seeking full ownership of Pilgrim’s Pride in a proposed stock-for-stock transaction that could simplify its corporate structure and remove the poultry company from Nasdaq.
The move comes days after JBS agreed to form a US$2.5 billion joint venture with Indonesia’s Danantara.
Tomazoni will become vice chairman and senior adviser after eight years leading the company.
JBS will contribute its existing Australia and New Zealand operations to the venture.
The environmental organisation says the information is needed before it can pursue legal action over the company’s environmental and human rights practices.
