TATA Starbucks opens first Starbucks Reserve store in South India

The new Starbucks Reserve outlet introduces small-lot coffees, artisanal beverages and an exclusive menu designed for India’s growing premium café market.

INDIA – TATA Starbucks has expanded its premium retail footprint with the launch of its first Starbucks Reserve store in South India, selecting Hyderabad’s upscale Jubilee Hills neighbourhood as the location for the new outlet.

The store, which opened to customers on August 1, becomes the sixth Starbucks Reserve location in India and marks another milestone in the coffee chain’s strategy to strengthen its presence in the country’s rapidly expanding premium café market.

Located in a restored bungalow in Jubilee Hills, the pet-friendly café has been designed to offer customers a more immersive coffee experience centred on Starbucks Reserve’s small-lot coffees sourced from renowned coffee-growing regions around the world.

The new location also features specialised brewing techniques and an exclusive range of artisanal food and beverages developed specifically for the Reserve format.

Customers will have access to a premium menu that includes Danish pastries, croissant sandwiches and sourdough toasts, alongside signature beverages such as Jamaican Stardust, Espresso Martini, Ube Cold Brew and Ube Martini.

Sushant Dash, chief executive officer of TATA Starbucks, said the opening highlights the importance of Hyderabad within the company’s broader growth strategy.

“Jubilee Hills has been an integral part of our journey in Hyderabad, and returning to this neighbourhood with our first Starbucks Reserve store in South India is especially meaningful,” Dash said.

“As one of our strongest markets with over 30 stores, Hyderabad continues to embrace new coffee experiences, making it a natural home for Starbucks Reserve. This store reflects our commitment to celebrating the craft of coffee through small-lot coffees, artisanal brewing and thoughtfully curated customer experiences.”

The launch further strengthens TATA Starbucks’ position in Hyderabad, where the company already operates more than 30 outlets. The city has become one of the brand’s largest and fastest-growing markets in India, making it a strategic location for introducing premium concepts.

According to Tata Consumer Products’ first-quarter results for the 2026-27 financial year, TATA Starbucks recorded year-on-year revenue growth of 11%, supported by strong same-store sales and improving customer traffic across its network.

The expansion comes as organised café chains continue to invest heavily in India amid increasing urbanisation, shifting consumer preferences and rising demand for premium coffee experiences.

Dash added that the company remains committed to investing in its workforce and currently employs approximately 4,300 people across India while continuing to create new opportunities for professional growth and development.
