Tropicana Brands Group appoints former Pabst CEO Paul Chibe as new Chief Executive

Tropicana Brands Group selects industry veteran Paul Chibe to lead its next phase of growth and brand expansion.

UK – Tropicana Brands Group has appointed Paul Chibe, former chief executive of Pabst Brewing Company, as its new CEO.

His appointment takes immediate effect, succeeding Glen Walter, who will remain with the company as an adviser until the end of the year. Chibe brings more than 25 years of experience in the global beverage and consumer goods industries.

Walter led Tropicana through its US$3.3bn separation from PepsiCo in 2021, when private-equity firm PAI Partners acquired a majority stake in the juice and beverages portfolio.

PepsiCo retained a 39% share in the newly formed company. Under its umbrella, Tropicana markets several well-known brands, including Naked, KeVita, and Dole, alongside its flagship Tropicana line.

Frédéric Stévenin, co-managing partner at PAI Partners and chairman of the Tropicana board, welcomed Chibe’s appointment, noting that his extensive background in driving innovation, navigating shifting consumer trends, and managing complex business environments will be valuable to the organisation.

Stévenin also expressed appreciation for Walter’s leadership throughout the company’s transition to operating as an independent entity.

Chibe previously served as president and CEO of Ferrero North America and as US chief marketing officer at Anheuser-Busch InBev. He also held senior leadership roles at Wrigley.

Throughout his career, he has overseen major brand expansion efforts, launched new products within established portfolios, and strengthened the market presence of leading consumer brands.

His accomplishments include expanding Ferrero’s North American business and advancing growth initiatives during his tenure at Pabst Brewing Company.

Speaking on his new role, Chibe said joining Tropicana represents an opportunity to lead a portfolio of widely recognised beverage brands. He highlighted the company’s strong brand equity, commitment to product quality, and experienced team as key strengths that position Tropicana for continued advancement.

Chibe added that he looks forward to enhancing innovation and pursuing new opportunities across the evolving beverage landscape.
