Artemis expands berry ingredient portfolio ahead of 30th anniversary

This year’s introductions include ElderCraft® High-Fiber Extract and ACE antioxidant blends, with the most recent being WHOLECran™, designed to deliver the complete nutritional profile of a berry.

U.S.A. – Artemis International, a leader in berry-based nutraceutical ingredients, has expanded its portfolio with new launches as it nears its 30th anniversary, reflecting its strategy to explore novel areas and address evolving consumer demands.

These launches include WHOLECran™, a full-spectrum cranberry powder, and ElderCraft® High Fiber Extract, an upgraded elderberry ingredient, both following the earlier release of ACEPlus™ and ACEMax™, two concentrated antioxidant blends.

WHOLECran™, the newest addition to the company’s line of cranberry ingredients, is crafted using a specialized drying process and contains 4% proanthocyanidins.

It delivers the complete nutritional power of the entire berry, skin, pulp, seeds, and juice solids, in a stable, free-flowing format, bringing the complete cranberry experience.

The company has introduced WHOLECran™ as part of its portfolio of more than 10 cranberry ingredients designed for a wide variety of product applications.

The portfolio includes juice-based ingredients for water-soluble formulations such as Cran90MX; proanthocyanidin (PAC)-standardized extracts providing functional dosages of bioactives, including cranberry extracts at 0.5%, 1%, 5%, and 15% PAC levels; and 100% cranberry ingredients such as Cran d’Or Complete.

They all deliver defined protein and fiber content to meet clean-label and nutritional requirements.

The earlier introduced ElderCraft® High Fiber Extract organic is a stronger version of Artemis’s ElderCraft product.

It is a 100% pure, certified-organic European black elderberry (Sambucus nigra, Haschberg variety) ingredient produced using Iprona Polyphenol Technology (IPT), a gentle, solvent-free membrane-separation and water-extraction method that preserves the full spectrum of natural bioactives.

Made from IPT-enriched elderberry extract and elderberry pomace, it contains no fillers or excipients and is standardized to at least 4% or 7% anthocyanins.

The extract delivers naturally high fiber with gut-supporting prebiotic benefits, without added fiber carriers, and has been clinically studied for immune and digestive health support while maintaining the full nutritional integrity of elderberry.

The above two introductions followed ACEPlus™ and ACEMax™ launch earlier in the year. They are antioxidant blends providing concentrated polyphenols for cost-effective use in foods, beverages, and supplements.

Both combine aronia, elderberry, and acerola cherry extracts for cardiovascular and immune support, while ACEPlus™ adds cranberry for urinary and gut health, and ACEMax™ adds tart cherry for joint and post-exercise muscle support.

Leslie Gallo, president of Artemis International, reported that the company’s science and innovation team has been actively developing new product offerings to address rising customer demand for high-quality, science-backed ingredients.

“As we move into and beyond our 30 years in business, our focus will continue to be refining our popular legacy berry-based ingredients, as well as listening closely to the needs of our customers to help lead innovation and new formulation development,” Gallo said.
