Leif Teksum, the current Vice Chair, will serve as Interim Chair following the resignation.

NORWAY – Mowi recently confirmed that Ørjan Svanevik stepped down from his role as Board Chair on February 27, 2026.
The company said Svanevik’s departure from the chairmanship is linked to the termination of his employment with Seatankers Management, a company associated with Geveran Trading Co. Ltd., which is Mowi’s majority shareholder.
Geveran Trading, headquartered in Cyprus, is controlled by Norwegian-born billionaire John Fredriksen and holds 15.18% of Mowi’s shares, according to the company’s website.
Svanevik joined Mowi as Chair in August 2024, shortly after taking a position at Seatankers Management, and his LinkedIn profile describes him as an executive with more than 30 years of experience across industries including salmon farming, shipping, energy, banking, FMCG, and software as a service.
In its announcement, Mowi stated that the nomination committee had been informed of Svanevik’s resignation and expressed gratitude for his contributions to the company.
The company added that the remaining members of the Board would maintain a quorum and that Vice Chair Leif Teksum would assume the role of Interim Chair.
Teksum, who joined Mowi’s Board in May 2024, has held leadership positions at DNB for over 30 years, including overseeing the seafood sector, and has served on the boards of Yara International, Selvaag Gruppen, Nordic Trustee, and Rana Gruber.
His LinkedIn profile notes that he advises on strategy development, executive management, governance, compliance, and the distribution of responsibilities between owners, boards, and management teams.
Mowi also reported its financial results for the fourth quarter and full year of 2025 in mid-February, recording revenues of EUR 1.59 billion (US$1.73 billion) and operating EBIT of EUR 213 million (US$232 million) in the final quarter.
The company ended 2025 with record earnings for both the last quarter and the full year, continuing a trend of incremental growth in its financial performance.
