Spring Valley Coffee expands UK presence with London Café, online sales
The Nairobi-based roaster is bringing origin-roasted Kenyan coffees from cooperatives, smallholder farmers and estates to consumers across the UK.
UK – Spring Valley Coffee, a Kenyan speciality coffee roaster, has expanded its presence in the UK through nationwide online sales and its first international café in London.
Founded in Nairobi in 2009, the company sources and roasts its coffee in Kenya before exporting it to international markets. The business says roasting at origin helps retain more of the value generated by coffee production within Kenya while supporting employment across farming, roasting and hospitality.
Spring Valley Coffee opened its first international café on Camden Passage in Islington in June 2025. The company is headquartered in Nairobi and has been a certified B Corporation since November 2023.
B Lab lists Spring Valley Coffee as Kenya’s original speciality coffee roaster and records a B Impact Score of 83.8.
Owner Ritesh Doshi said the UK expansion was intended to strengthen connections between Kenyan coffee producers and international consumers.
“For a long time, the world has enjoyed Kenyan coffee without knowing the people or the places behind it,” Doshi said.
“Bringing our coffee to London isn’t just about serving incredible coffee, it’s about giving farmer partners, the roasters, and the baristas a platform to the people drinking the literal fruits of their craft.”
The company’s UK collection includes coffees produced by cooperatives, smallholder farmers and estates across Kenya’s coffee-growing regions.
Halisi, the company’s original blend, has been produced since Spring Valley Coffee was founded in 2009. Sourced from cooperatives across Central Kenya, it features tasting notes of stone fruit, vanilla and jasmine and is primarily designed for filter brewing.
Other coffees include Elgon, produced on the western slopes of Mount Elgon, alongside Nuru, Mukuyuni and Kikaboni. Mukuyuni is produced by more than 900 smallholder farmers in Machakos County, while Kikaboni is grown in Kericho County using regenerative agricultural practices.
Spring Valley Coffee said the collection demonstrates the range of flavours, regions and production methods found across Kenya’s coffee sector.
The company operates nine cafés in Kenya in addition to its London location and supplies coffee to hotels, restaurants, cafés and retailers.
The UK expansion provides Spring Valley Coffee with a direct platform to reach British consumers while increasing the international visibility of Kenyan-owned speciality coffee brands.
