ACI Beverages launches MacCoffee in Bangladesh

The launch will initially feature MacCoffee Original and Gold jars, with plans for local packaging and product expansion as Bangladesh’s instant coffee market grows.

BANDLADESH – ACI Beverages, a strategic unit of ACI Foods Limited, has launched MacCoffee in Bangladesh through a partnership with Empire International Sdn. Bhd., a member of Singapore-based Food Empire Holdings Limited, with support from Mitsui & Co (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd.

The launch marks another step in ACI Beverages’ efforts to expand its beverage portfolio and strengthen its presence in Bangladesh’s growing hot beverage market.

ACI Beverages entered the beverage category through the distribution of Sunquick Fruit Concentrate and Fruit Drink products, followed by the launch of ACI Electrolyte Drinks. The company subsequently partnered with Empire International to introduce MacCoffee to Bangladeshi consumers.

MacCoffee is an international coffee brand available in more than 60 countries. The partnership will initially introduce MacCoffee Original and MacCoffee Gold in jars across Bangladesh.

The companies also plan to establish local packaging operations in the longer term and introduce additional products to the market.

The launch comes as Bangladesh’s instant coffee industry is projected to generate US$3.1 million in incremental growth between 2026 and 2031, according to StrategyHelix.

ACI Beverages said the collaboration reflects its strategy to develop a diversified beverage portfolio while responding to opportunities in the country’s hot beverage category.

Food Empire Holdings, which owns the MacCoffee brand, has also been expanding its production capabilities in international markets.

Last year, the company invested 6.7 billion tenge, approximately US$13 million, in a tea and coffee production facility in Khorgos, Kazakhstan, a key gateway city connecting Kazakhstan and China.

The investment formed part of Food Empire’s efforts to strengthen its manufacturing footprint, while the Bangladesh partnership provides another route for expanding MacCoffee’s market presence.

The initial distribution of MacCoffee Original and Gold will establish the brand’s presence in Bangladesh, with local packaging and further product launches planned as the collaboration develops.
