Prinova names Brent Laffey President of North America

The appointment brings Prinova’s distribution and value-added operations under one leader as the company expands its manufacturing capacity in Illinois.

USA – Prinova, a wholly owned subsidiary of the NAGASE Group and a supplier of ingredients and premixes, has appointed Brent Laffey as President of North America, effective January 1, 2027.

Laffey will oversee the company’s Distribution and Value-Added businesses in the region. The leadership structure is intended to simplify customer access to Prinova’s ingredient portfolio, technical expertise and value-added services, including product development, nutrient premixes, particle technologies and contract manufacturing.

Prinova Group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Masaya Ikemoto said the appointment would help the company strengthen its customer offering and pursue further growth.

“Prinova’s performance is strong and we see significant opportunities ahead for our business and our customers,” Ikemoto said. “Brent brings a rare combination of commercial leadership, deep knowledge of our industry, and first-hand global experience across both our distribution and value-added businesses.”

He added: “Bringing these businesses together under his leadership will help us unlock more of Prinova’s capabilities for our customers, build on our momentum, and accelerate our growth.”

Laffey’s association with Prinova dates back to 2007. In 2015, he co-founded Armada Nutrition, now part of Prinova, and helped grow the business to US$250 million in sales.

He rejoined Prinova in 2025 and took responsibility for leading its North American commercial organisation. The company said the organisation had delivered strong results under his leadership.

Commenting on his appointment, Laffey said his return was motivated by confidence in the company’s capabilities and its people.

“I returned to Prinova because I believe in the capabilities of the organization and its people to serve the evolving needs of the food, beverage, and nutrition industry,” he said.

He added: “We have exceptional expertise across our business, from our ingredient portfolio and global supply chain to product development and manufacturing. As President of our North America business, my focus will be on bringing those strengths together so we can create even greater value for our customers and respond quickly to the opportunities we see in the market.”

The appointment comes as Prinova continues investing in areas with growth potential. The company recently purchased a production facility spanning more than 170,000 square feet in Bloomingdale, Illinois, strengthening its manufacturing and distribution presence in the Midwest.

The facility will expand production and distribution capacity to support customer demand while complementing Prinova’s established ingredient distribution and value-added operations across North America.
