Al Faya Dry Port secures UN/LOCODE designation, integrates into global trade network
The designation eliminates redundant documentation, simplifying the movement of bonded goods across multimodal corridors.
UAE – Al Faya Dry Port has been assigned the UN/LOCODE (AEALF) by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, formally integrating the inland logistics hub into the global multimodal trade and logistics ecosystem and enabling customs declarations to be processed at a single approved facility.
The designation enables Abu Dhabi Customs to process customs declarations at a single approved facility and accelerates cargo movement between connected logistics hubs without the need for additional customs documentation.
Digital Integration and Customs Simplification
Strategically located between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, Al Faya Dry Port is digitally integrated with Khalifa Port. The facility provides customs-controlled goods-handling services under Abu Dhabi Customs, advanced container-handling services, and integrated logistics solutions to support growing cargo volumes and strengthen multimodal trade connectivity throughout the UAE.
The globally recognized UN/LOCODE system is used across the international shipping, logistics, and trade sectors to standardize location identification, facilitate customs processes, and enhance the efficiency of global supply chains. The designation eliminates redundant documentation, simplifying the movement of bonded goods across multimodal corridors.
Through Bills of Lading and Inland Gateway Function
The designation also facilitates seamless bonded cargo movement and the issuance of Through Bills of Lading, enabling Al Faya Dry Port to serve as both an export origin and an import destination. This designation establishes the port as an internationally recognized inland logistics hub, supporting more efficient cargo movement across interconnected ports, inland facilities, and multimodal trade corridors.
