Alessandra Ronco takes helm as global CEO at House of Shipping

Alessandra Ronco will now lead the global strategy of House of Shipping while continuing her role as Global Chief Legal Officer.

GLOBAL – House of Shipping has named Alessandra Ronco as its new Global Chief Executive Officer.

The announcement comes as the company focuses on growing its advisory and consultancy services for the maritime and logistics industries. Ronco will also keep her position as the Global Chief Legal Officer, a role she has held since 2022.

Ronco brings over two decades of experience in maritime law and business strategy. Her background includes senior roles at Maersk Line and Arkas Container and Shipping Transport S.A., where she worked in legal, customer service, and network design.

House of Shipping’s leadership cited her deep industry knowledge and leadership style as key reasons for the appointment.

“I am honoured to step into this role and continue supporting House of Shipping’s dynamic growth journey,” said Ronco. “Together, we will maintain our focus on driving meaningful progress through collaboration, forward-thinking solutions for our customers, and a deep commitment to sustainable growth.”

Expanding legal and advisory strength

Since joining the company, Ronco has reshaped its legal department into a trusted consulting arm. Her work includes handling partnership agreements, protection and indemnity claims, and competition law.

She helped align legal risk management with broader business goals, making legal advice a central part of House of Shipping’s offering.

“As we grow, we need leadership that understands both the legal and commercial sides of our business,” said a spokesperson for House of Shipping. “Alessandra brings both, and that balance will help us stay responsive to clients while strengthening our services.”

Industry shifts shape the road ahead

Ronco’s promotion comes at a time of rapid changes across shipping and logistics. Digital tools such as artificial intelligence are helping companies reduce errors and increase efficiency.

In ports, systems powered by real-time data and internet-connected devices are improving cargo handling and tracking.

Environmental rules are also pushing companies to invest in cleaner fuels like LNG and better ship designs. In logistics, the use of driverless vehicles and drones continues to grow, lowering costs and speeding up delivery.

Blockchain tools are also gaining traction, improving how shipments are tracked and documents are managed.

As Global CEO, Ronco will guide House of Shipping through these industry changes. Her role will include helping clients understand and respond to these shifts while continuing to grow the company’s advisory services.

House of Shipping provides business consultancy in areas such as legal support, finance, HR, IT, and marketing. It helps maritime and logistics businesses deal with complex global trade environments.

With Ronco in charge, the company expects to sharpen its focus on customer service, legal reliability, and steady growth.
