The investment upgrades brewing equipment to meet soaring demand for Michelob ULTRA and support local manufacturing jobs.

USA – Anheuser-Busch has announced a US$9.2 million investment in its Cartersville, Georgia brewery to expand production capacity for Michelob ULTRA, the fastest-growing beer brand in the United States.
The funding will be directed toward upgrading brewing equipment at the facility, which has been in operation since 1993.
The Cartersville brewery currently produces 48 different products distributed to 32 states nationwide. With this new investment, Anheuser-Busch aims to meet the rising demand for Michelob ULTRA, now the top-selling beer in the Southeast and a leader in national market share growth.
The company cited Circana data showing Michelob ULTRA’s strong sales trajectory as of mid-August.
The initiative is part of Anheuser-Busch’s wider Brewing Futures program, a commitment to invest more than US$300 million in U.S. facilities to strengthen local economies and manufacturing jobs.
Since 2020, the brewer has invested more than US$230 million in the Cartersville brewery alone and nearly $2 billion across its 100 U.S. facilities over the past five years.
Brendan Whitworth, CEO of Anheuser-Busch, emphasized that continued investment in people, breweries, and communities is central to driving economic growth. He added that the Cartersville expansion will help the company meet increasing consumer demand while supporting jobs in Georgia.
Georgia State Representative Matthew Gambill welcomed the announcement, underscoring Anheuser-Busch’s contribution to the local economy and its role in sustaining Cartersville’s position as an industry leader.
The expansion also highlights Michelob ULTRA’s evolution as a lifestyle brand tied to sports and wellness. The beer serves as an official sponsor of Major League Soccer, the PGA Tour, and several major global sporting events, including the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the upcoming Olympic Games in Milan and Los Angeles.
This investment follows other U.S. expansions announced this year, including US$15 million in St. Louis, US$9 million in Baldwinsville, US$17 million in Houston, US$4.2 million in Williamsburg, and US$16 million in Los Angeles.
