DHL targets US$3.47B new energy revenue by 2030, launches wind, EV, battery logistics services
DHL is expanding its infrastructure to support electric-vehicle and battery supply chains.
GLOBAL – DHL Group has set a target to increase revenue from new energy logistics from approximately €600 million (approx. US$694 million) in 2025 to €3 billion (approx. US$3.47 billion) by 2030.
DHL has identified New Energy as a strategic growth area under its Strategy 2030 programme, developing logistics offerings across eight segments, including alternative fuels, battery storage, electric vehicles, hydrogen, grid infrastructure, solar, and wind energy.
Wind Energy Logistics and Time Definite Plus Service
A key focus area is the wind energy sector, which has reached approximately 1.3 terawatts of installed capacity worldwide. As wind farms mature, demand for maintenance, repair, and overhaul support is growing.
DHL has launched Time Definite Plus, a service within the DHL Express network that provides timed deliveries, special handling, Swap & Return services, and deliveries to remote locations.
EV and Battery Infrastructure Expansion
DHL is expanding its infrastructure to support electric-vehicle and battery supply chains. Construction has begun on a European battery logistics hub in Holtum, the Netherlands, which will provide 17,000 square metres of specialized storage for high-voltage batteries.
In France, DHL has opened an EV and battery centre of excellence in Meung-sur-Loire. DHL currently operates more than 20 EV Centres of Excellence worldwide and plans to open new facilities in India and Peru.
