DP World and Al Dahra partner on GCC food logistics, target supply chain resilience

UAE – DP World and Al Dahra Holding have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore end-to-end supply chain solutions for food and agricultural commodities across the GCC and international markets.

The agreement comes as the UAE imports approximately 85-90% of its food, heightening focus on supply chain resilience across the region.

For logistics operators and fresh produce importers, the partnership combines DP World’s global transport network with Al Dahra’s agricultural sourcing expertise.

Scope of Cooperation

Under the agreement, the companies will explore end-to-end supply chain solutions for the food and agricultural commodities, combining DP World’s logistics infrastructure with Al Dahra’s agricultural sourcing and procurement operations.

Areas of cooperation include logistics and port infrastructure for the import, storage, processing, and distribution of food commodities across the GCC, as well as cold chain and warehousing systems for fresh produce, grains, and processed foods.

The companies will also assess joint investments in logistics facilities, free zone operations, and agri-food processing hubs in Abu Dhabi and other GCC markets.

In addition, the partnership will explore sourcing corridors across Africa, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and the Americas.

The discussions will also cover technology-based supply chain systems, including digital platforms, traceability systems, and logistics management tools.

Lastly, the collaboration will also focus on food safety standards, customs processes, and regulatory coordination to support cross-border trade.
