This achievement reflects its mission to deliver superior quality products that support the health and well-being of every household.
KENYA – Golden Africa Kenya Limited, a manufacturer of edible oils, fats, and cleaning products, has earned the internationally renowned Food Safety System Certification (FSSC) 22000 certification, underscoring its commitment to food safety and quality excellence.
Established in 2015, Golden Africa Kenya Limited traces its roots to the Hayel Saeed Anam (HSA) Group, a diversified multinational established in 1938 and headquartered in Dubai. The company has made its mark with flagship consumer brands, Pika, Avena (edible oils), Zenta, and Super Saba Plus (washing bars).
“We are honored to be among the very few food manufacturers in Kenya to achieve the FSSC 22000 certification. This accomplishment reflects our team’s relentless pursuit of excellence and continuous investment in innovation, systems, and training. Above all, it reaffirms our commitment to delivering safe, high-quality products our consumers can rely on,” Mr. Fathi Saeed, Managing Director of Golden Africa Kenya Ltd., said.
The GFSI-recognised FSSC 22000 is one of the most rigorous and respected food safety management systems globally.
It has been delivering impact on global food safety for 15 years, providing a certification model that can be used in the food manufacturing industry and the related supply chain to ensure food safety standards and processes.
Based on international and independent standards such as ISO 22000, the FSSC 22000 also makes use of technical specifications for sector-specific Pre-Requisite Programs (PRPs), such as ISO/TS 22002-1 to ensure hygienic environments within organisations.
Its requirements ensure consistency and integrity, provide governance, contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals, and add agility in addressing emerging food safety issues.
Achieving the certificate boosts consumer confidence in a company’s products and provides retailers, distributors, and foodservice providers with the assurance of working with a company that adheres to and often exceeds international food safety standards.
“Earning the FSSC certification is more than an achievement, it’s a responsibility. It cements our position as a leader in the edible oil industry and strengthens our continued commitment to providing products defined by trust, safety, and quality,” added Mr. Saeed Abdo, General Manager of Golden Africa Kenya Ltd.
This achievement not only enhances Golden Africa Kenya Limited’s standing in the market but also reflects its mission to deliver superior quality products that support the health and well-being of every household.
It builds on the company’s ISO 9001:2015 certification, reinforcing its reputation for operational excellence, reliability, and customer satisfaction. Ultimately, it contributes to advancing food safety standards within Kenya’s food industry.
