Hung Nhon, De Heus launch one-million-chick broiler complex in Vietnam’s Tay Ninh province

VIETNAM – Hung Nhon Group and its European partners have introduced the first batch of one million day-old broiler chicks into the DHN Tay Ninh 2 facility in Vietnam’s Tay Ninh province, marking the operational start of a large-scale poultry production complex.

The site forms part of a wider industrial poultry system developed jointly by Hung Nhon Group and De Heus Group, with breeding stock supplied by Bel Ga and designed output reaching five million birds annually.

The DHN Tay Ninh 2 project is valued at nearly VND275 billion (about US$10.8 million) and is located in Tan Hoi commune, where it has been built as a high-capacity broiler production unit within a coordinated agricultural network.

The facility sits inside a broader 13-project expansion plan by Hung Nhon and De Heus across Tay Ninh province, with total investment estimated at VND13,100 billion (about US$514 million) and long-term output targets set for 2036.

The integrated chain is projected to reach 200 million breeding chickens, 25 million export broilers annually, and 10,000 grandparent pigs, with expected yearly revenue of around US$2 billion once fully scaled.

The DHN Tay Ninh 2 complex spans more than 74,000 square metres and operates as a fully enclosed production system with automated regulation of temperature, humidity, feed, and water supply to control production conditions.

Key technology and service partners include Big Dutchman for automation systems, Olmix for biological inputs, and Boehringer Ingelheim for vaccines and animal health support, as well as Den Ouden.

Hung Nhon Group chairman Vu Manh Hung said the commissioning reflects coordinated technical capacity across breeding, nutrition, equipment, and veterinary systems within the partnership network.

Farm operations follow a closed-loop process covering chick intake, brooding, growth monitoring, feeding, vaccination schedules, data tracking, and full disinfection between production cycles.

Alongside the launch, staff training sessions were conducted with support from Boehringer Ingelheim and Olmix, focusing on disease prevention, barn environment control, and vaccination management, while a vaccine cold storage unit was also donated to the facility.

Earlier in the development programme, Hung Nhon and De Heus also transported 1,250 grandparent and great-grandparent pigs from Canada, supplied by Topigs Norsvin, to their high-tech livestock complex in Dak Lak province.
