JBT Marel inaugurates Global Production Center in India

The Pune GPC is designed to meet rising demand for efficient, innovative, and environmentally responsible food processing solutions.

INDIA – JBT Marel recently inaugurated its new Global Production Center (GPC) in Pune, marking a significant step in the company’s strategy to expand its manufacturing and innovation footprint across India and the Asia-Pacific region.

The launch underscores JBT Marel’s commitment to providing world-class food processing technologies tailored to the fast-growing regional market and strengthening its presence in one of the most dynamic food industries globally.

The state-of-the-art facility was unveiled during an official ceremony attended by senior company executives, including Brian Deck, CEO; Augusto Rizzolo, EVP and President, Regions and Integration; Bob Petrie, EVP and President, Meat & Prepared Foods; and Jack Martin, EVP and Chief Supply Chain Officer.

The event featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a guided tour of the production center, and detailed presentations showcasing the advanced technologies and sustainable processes that define the new facility.

Purpose-built to enhance production capabilities, the Pune GPC is designed to meet rising demand for efficient, innovative, and environmentally responsible food processing solutions.

“The Global Production Center in India is a proud milestone for us and reinforces our commitment to driving innovation in food processing,” said Augusto Rizzolo during the inauguration.

He added that the facility “brings global expertise closer to our customers in South Asia and positions India as a key hub for advanced solutions that can serve the wider Asia region.”

India’s food processing sector is among the largest in the world, contributing nearly 12 per cent to the country’s manufacturing GDP and employing more than 8 million people.

Rising consumer demand for packaged and ready-to-eat foods, supported by government initiatives such as Make in India and the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Food Processing, is accelerating the nation’s emergence as a global innovation hub.

Strategically located in Pune, JBT Marel’s new GPC will support this momentum by providing sustainable, technology-driven solutions for Indian manufacturers while serving as an export base for the broader Asia-Pacific market.

Through this milestone, JBT Marel reinforces its mission to “Transform the Future of Food,” combining automation, digitalization, and sustainability to enhance efficiency, improve food quality, and reduce environmental impact across the global food system.

The company provides unique and holistic solutions by designing, manufacturing, and servicing cutting-edge technology, systems, and software for a broad range of food and beverage end markets.
