McCain Foods India appoints Aditya Krishna as Managing Director
Krishna will build on McCain India’s grower partnerships, potato innovation and food processing initiatives while Avishek Kar takes over as Commercial Head.
INDIA – McCain Foods India has appointed Aditya Krishna as its new Managing Director, succeeding Mainak Dhar, who is moving into an expanded leadership role within McCain following his tenure heading the India business.
As part of the leadership transition, Avishek Kar has been elevated to Commercial Head, McCain Foods India, succeeding Krishna. The appointments form part of McCain India’s focus on internal talent development, leadership mobility and strengthening its leadership pipeline.
In his new role, Krishna will build on McCain Foods India’s partnerships with growers and continue efforts to develop French Fries potato varieties suited to Indian conditions. He will also focus on strengthening the company’s contribution to India’s food processing industry and its engagement with communities.
“It is a privilege to lead McCain Foods India at this important stage of our journey,” Krishna said. “Over the years, McCain has built a deep legacy in the country—partnering with growers, pioneering the development of French Fries potato varieties suited to Indian conditions, contributing to the growth of the food processing industry, and supporting communities through initiatives such as Project Shakti and Project Utthaan.”

Krishna brings nearly two decades of sales and marketing experience across India and Southeast Asia from his time at Mondelez International. Before becoming Managing Director, he served as Commercial Director at McCain India for more than three years.
During that period, Krishna contributed to retail business growth, brand salience and consumer-focused innovation, according to the company.
Kar will take on the Commercial Head role with extensive institutional knowledge of McCain’s India operations. Having held several positions within the company, he brings market understanding and commercial experience to his expanded responsibilities.
McCain India said the leadership changes reflect its broader approach to developing internal talent and creating opportunities for employees to assume greater responsibilities.
The company’s talent strategy focuses on identifying high-potential employees, targeted development and internal mobility to strengthen its leadership pipeline.
