M&M’S launches first freeze-dried candy

M&M’S POP’d Caramel combines the well-loved caramel flavor with a new airy and crunchy texture.

USA – M&M’S®, a Mars brand, has announced the launch of M&M’S POP’d Caramel, its first-ever freeze-dried candy that promises a light, crispy, and irresistibly poppable snacking experience. 

The innovation follows the success of SKITTLES POP’d, introduced in 2024, marking Mars’ continued expansion into the freeze-dried candy segment that’s redefining how consumers enjoy classic treats.

M&M’S POP’d Caramel combines the well-loved caramel flavor with a new airy and crunchy texture, delivering a unique sensory experience while keeping the iconic M&M’S taste fans adore. 

“With M&M’S POP’d Caramel, we’re giving fans a whole new way to enjoy the classic caramel flavor that has been a fan-favorite in our lineup for years,” said Martin Terwilliger, Vice President of Marketing at Mars Wrigley North America. “This fresh and fun new treat takes everything you love about M&M’S and gives it a light, crispy crunch, bringing the flavors and textures together in an unexpected new way.”

The product will first appear in a 5.5oz Small Stand-Up Pouch exclusively on TikTok Shop and MMS.com beginning November 3, followed by availability at M&M’S Stores from November 10, and a nationwide rollout in January 2026. 

Additional sizes are expected later in the year, offering fans multiple ways to enjoy this novel treat.

Building on the success of SKITTLES POP’d, this new platform highlights the growing consumer appetite for bold and playful textures in confectionery. 

M&M’S POP’d Caramel is designed to fit into everyday moments, whether at work, on the go, or shared with friends, making snacking more fun, flavorful, and social. Staying true to the brand’s long-time slogan, it’s a reminder that with M&M’S, “It’s More Fun Together.”

The launch follows Mars’ recent addition to the M&M’S lineup with Honey Roasted Peanut, which brought a classic flavor twist to the brand’s nut range.
