National Industries Park, Al Bayader launches US$50M logistics hub for food packaging in Dubai
Construction is set to begin in 2026, with full-scale operations expected to commence in early 2028.
UAE – National Industries Park has partnered with Al Bayader International to develop an integrated manufacturing and logistics hub in Dubai, with an investment of AED 180 million (US$50 million).
The project is expected to increase regional food packaging production capacity by up to 30,000 tonnes annually, strengthening packaging supply chains serving the hospitality, tourism, and food service sectors across the GCC.
Facility Specifications and Production Capacity
Covering more than 678,000 square feet, the facility will bring together manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution operations under one roof. It will also house a robotics-enabled fulfilment centre, Al Bayader International’s corporate headquarters, and employee accommodation facilities. Construction is set to begin in 2026, with full-scale operations expected to commence in early 2028.
Upon completion, the hub will be able to produce up to 10,000 tonnes of paper-based food packaging and 20,000 tonnes of circular plastics, including recycled PET (rPET), annually. Future expansion plans include adding production lines for aluminium-based and bio-based packaging materials.
The facility’s output of recycled PET and paper-based packaging directly supports sustainable cold-chain operations. Circular plastics reduce reliance on virgin materials for produce crates and containers, while paper-based packaging provides compostable alternatives for fresh fruit and vegetable shipments.
Technology, Sustainability, and Supply Chain Benefits
The facility will include low-emission production lines, solar power systems, state-of-the-art water and waste management solutions, and an on-site water treatment plant
The project is expected to improve the availability of packaging products across the region, reduce supply lead times, and enhance export capabilities for both regional and international markets.

Abdulla Al Hashmi, Global COO of Parks and Economic Zones at DP World, said expanding manufacturing capacity within the packaging sector would help improve supply chain resilience and further strengthen the GCC’s broader trade ecosystem.

The hub’s 30,000 tonnes annual capacity reduces dependence on imported packaging, cutting lead times and freight costs for fresh-produce exporters.
As operations commence in early 2028, the hub will strengthen supply chain resilience for the hospitality and food service industries while positioning Dubai as a centre for advanced manufacturing and value-added logistics in the packaging sector.
