Palsgaard Brazil names Miguel Hidalgo as new CEO

His career also includes positions as CEO of Palsgaard Mexico and Regional Director of the Americas.

BRAZIL – Global emulsifier and stabiliser specialist Palsgaard has appointed Miguel Hidalgo as its new Chief Executive Officer in Brazil, strengthening its leadership team in one of Latin America’s most dynamic food markets.

Hidalgo officially assumed the role on October 1, 2025, bringing with him more than three decades of experience at Palsgaard and a strong track record of regional leadership.

Since 2018, Hidalgo has served as chairman of Palsgaard Brazil, guiding the subsidiary through a period of steady growth and reinforcing its reputation as a trusted partner to local food manufacturers.

His career also includes positions as CEO of Palsgaard Mexico and Regional Director of the Americas, giving him deep insight into both the challenges and opportunities across the continent’s food industry.

With his appointment, Palsgaard has signalled its intention to expand further in Brazil, where demand for functional ingredients such as emulsifiers and stabilisers is rising sharply.

These ingredients are critical in ensuring consistency, texture, and shelf-life across a wide range of food categories, from baked goods and dairy products to plant-based alternatives and confectionery.

As consumer expectations for quality, convenience, and clean-label formulations continue to grow, the company sees Brazil as a market with significant untapped potential.

In a statement, Palsgaard said the appointment reflects its ambition to become the leading supplier of emulsifiers and speciality ingredients in Brazil.

The company operates globally with a strong emphasis on innovation, sustainability, and customer collaboration, values that Hidalgo is expected to carry forward in his new role.

His experience building cross-border partnerships and overseeing large-scale operations will be central to Palsgaard’s strategy of deepening its market penetration while driving product development tailored to local needs.

The decision to elevate Hidalgo also comes at a time when Palsgaard is sharpening its focus on Latin America more broadly.

With shifting consumer habits, an expanding middle class, and increasing regulatory attention on food safety and sustainability, Brazil represents both a challenge and an opportunity for ingredient suppliers.

Palsgaard’s ability to combine technical expertise with a commitment to responsible sourcing positions it strongly to capture market share.

Hidalgo’s leadership is expected to accelerate Palsgaard’s long-term vision of shaping the future of food ingredients in Brazil, with a clear focus on innovation, service excellence, and sustainable growth.
