The complex’s proximity to the Khatmat Malaha border crossing provides direct access to Omani ports.

UAE – Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority has launched the Al Dhaid Logistics Complex, a 16-million-square-foot multimodal facility designed to handle 1.5 million TEUs annually.
The complex serves as a strategic extension of the Sajaa Logistics Complex, strengthening integration across Sharjah’s logistics infrastructure and supporting the growing demands of trade, industry, and logistics services in the UAE and across regional markets.
Strategic Location and Multimodal Connectivity
Located in the City of Al Dhaid, the complex occupies a prime position linking Sharjah’s seaports (Port Khalid, Hamriyah Port on the west coast, and Port Khorfakkan and Kalba Port on the east coast overlooking the Sea of Oman) to border crossings, industrial zones, and future transport networks.
The facility also integrates with a dedicated railway siding and rail-loading facilities, supporting future connectivity with the UAE National Railway Network via Etihad Rail, thereby combining maritime, road, and rail transport within a single operational framework.
This multimodal integration enables the seamless movement of refrigerated cargo from vessels at Sharjah’s ports to rail or road transport, enabling rapid distribution across the UAE, Oman, and the broader GCC markets. The complex’s proximity to the Khatmat Malaha border crossing provides direct access to Omani ports.
Advanced Infrastructure and Gulftainer Partnership
The complex is supported by advanced infrastructure, including truck marshalling yards, general cargo handling areas, modern warehouses, integrated inspection and screening facilities, sophisticated traffic management systems, dedicated access routes, and seamless road connectivity.
The dry port is one of the complex’s key operational components and is operated by Gulftainer, which leverages decades of regional and international expertise to maximise operational performance and facilitate cargo flows.
The complex’s strategic importance is further enhanced by its integration with the Integrated Logistics Corridor, launched by SPCFZA in cooperation with the Sultanate of Oman’s Customs Authorities.
Phased Expansion and Economic Impact
The first phase covers more than 16 million square feet, with future expansion phases planned to enhance operational capacity and scalability.
The complex serves as a vital extension of Sharjah’s logistics framework, bolstering national economic competitiveness and providing businesses with a highly flexible, integrated platform for domestic and international commerce.
This transformative project ultimately provides businesses with a highly flexible and integrated platform for domestic and international commerce.
