Symrise to expand chicken powder production with new facility in France

The Berric facility will serve as a key hub for Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, while also supporting additional capacity for Asia Pacific and Latin America.

FRANCE – Symrise has announced a major expansion at its Berric site in France, where it will begin producing new chicken powders from mid-2026.

The development is supported by the construction of a new spray-drying tower, which will expand both the company’s capacity and portfolio.

Symrise already offers a broad range of chicken solutions for taste, texture, mouthfeel, and nutritional benefits, and this investment aims to further strengthen its position in the global food ingredients market.

Chicken remains one of the most widely consumed proteins worldwide, and demand continues to grow across markets.

By increasing production in France, Symrise is positioning itself to meet evolving needs from food manufacturers who rely on chicken powders for use in popular applications such as noodles, bouillons, and soups.

The Berric facility will serve as a key hub for Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, while also supporting additional capacity for Asia Pacific and Latin America.

The move also reinforces supply security for multinational clients through dual sourcing between France and the United States.

Supporting innovation and global supply

The introduction of new chicken powders is aligned with industry trends toward clean label, convenient, and cost-efficient solutions.

Symrise emphasized that the powders are produced with sustainable sourcing and consistent quality, giving food manufacturers a competitive edge in crowded markets.

Early samples are already available for customer evaluation.

Antoine Coursault, Strategic Growth Competence Director for Chicken within Symrise Food & Beverage, highlighted that the Berric site will play a central role in supporting the company’s global customers.

“With this new spray-drying tower, we are introducing chicken powders that expand the options available to food manufacturers, provide reliable supply, and support innovation in product development. The expanded site reinforces our ability to serve regional markets, while offering additional options for global accounts,” he said.

Symrise’s approach builds on its comprehensive expertise in natural chicken ingredients and flavor creation.

The company can manage the entire value chain, offering not only powders but also broths, fats, chicken pieces, and authentic taste profiles such as roasted, boiled, and grilled.

This broad portfolio enables the firm to meet evolving consumer preferences while ensuring flexibility for food producers.

The expansion at Berric underscores Symrise’s commitment to innovation and its strategy of “Accelerating Advantage.”

By scaling its chicken capabilities, the company is providing manufacturers with tools to create products that deliver on both taste and transparency, securing its leadership role in the savory food sector.
