Unifrutti, Sam’s Club China launch premium NFC blood orange juice

For health-conscious consumers, Oran Juice offers significant nutritional benefits.

ITALY – Unifrutti Group has partnered with Sam’s Club China, owned by Walmart, to launch Oran Juice, a premium not-from-concentrate blood orange juice made exclusively from Oranfrizer blood oranges grown in Sicily.

The blood oranges are grown on the volcanic slopes of Mount Etna, where the unique microclimate, sun-drenched days, cool nights, and mineral-rich volcanic soils naturally enhance the fruit’s deep-red colour, sweetness, and nutritional value.

These conditions produce the distinctive flavour for which Sicilian blood oranges are renowned worldwide: vibrant, aromatic, naturally sweet with a hint of berry-like acidity.

For health-conscious consumers, Oran Juice offers significant nutritional benefits. Blood oranges are rich in vitamin C, antioxidants, and bioactive compounds that help boost immunity and support overall well-being.

In addition, the juice contains no concentrates, added sugar, or artificial ingredients, making it a clean-label option in China’s growing premium beverage segment.

On the other hand, the temperature variation between day and night promotes sugar accumulation, while the Mediterranean sun drives anthocyanin production, the pigment responsible for the fruit’s signature red colour.

For Unifrutti, this collaboration marks a strategic expansion of its premium Mediterranean range to Chinese consumers. Sam’s Club, which opened its first store in China in Shenzhen in 1996, has grown into one of the country’s most respected membership retail platforms.

Therefore, the launch strengthens Sam’s Club’s reputation for high-quality imported products and showcases Italian citrus to its members.

Mauro Benda, CEO of Unifrutti Italy and CFO of Unifrutti Group, on the launch commented: “Our partnership with Sam’s Club China to introduce Oran Juice reflects Unifrutti’s commitment to bringing exceptional fruit experiences to consumers worldwide, and we are excited about this major retail launch in China. This product showcases the unique quality of our blood oranges from the foothills of Mount Etna, and it strengthens our presence in one of the most dynamic retail markets. We are proud to offer a product that embodies the freshness and flavour of Sicily and the innovation at the heart of Unifrutti.

By prioritizing traceability and quality, Unifrutti and Sam’s Club aim to bridge the gap between Mediterranean agriculture and dynamic international markets.

The Oran Juice launch signals that Chinese consumers are ready to pay premium prices for authentic, health-focused imports with clear traceability and distinctive growing stories.
