Tiger Beer 4.0 combines a lighter taste profile with modern packaging as Nigerian Breweries targets evolving consumer preferences in the premium beer segment.

NIGERIA – Nigerian Breweries Plc has unveiled Tiger Beer 4.0, a refreshed version of its premium lager featuring a smoother taste profile and redesigned packaging as the company strengthens its appeal among younger beer consumers in Nigeria.
The relaunch reflects the brewer’s strategy to respond to changing drinking preferences, with consumers increasingly seeking lighter, more refreshing beverages rather than the traditionally bitter and heavy taste associated with many beer brands.
According to Nigerian Breweries, the revamped Tiger Beer offers reduced bitterness, a smoother taste, a lighter mouthfeel and a cleaner finish while maintaining the quality and distinctive character associated with the brand.
Alongside the updated recipe, the company has introduced a refreshed visual identity featuring a distinctive die-cut label, stronger design elements and a contemporary appearance intended to reflect confidence, progress and modern boldness.
Speaking on the relaunch, Maria Shadeko, Portfolio Manager for Premium Beer at Nigerian Breweries Plc, said the product has been redesigned to reflect evolving consumer expectations.
“Consumers today are redefining what boldness means to them. It is no longer about choosing the heaviest beer in the room. It is about confidence, self-expression, and enjoying experiences that genuinely fit their lifestyle. Tiger reflects that evolution, delivering a smoother and more refreshing experience while staying true to the brand’s bold spirit,” she said.
The company noted that the product refresh aligns with broader global trends, where younger consumers increasingly favour beverage brands that complement their lifestyles and social experiences, including music, nightlife, fashion, sports and food culture.
According to Nigerian Breweries, the relaunch reinforces Tiger Beer’s commitment to delivering a contemporary drinking experience while challenging the traditional perception that boldness must be defined by bitterness or intensity.
The launch also comes as Nigeria’s brewing industry continues to navigate softer consumer spending, prompting manufacturers to accelerate product innovation, premiumisation and brand differentiation to sustain growth in an increasingly competitive market.
For Nigerian Breweries, Tiger Beer 4.0 represents the latest investment in strengthening its premium beer portfolio as brewers compete for market share in Africa’s largest beer market.
The company continues to position innovation and evolving consumer preferences at the centre of its growth strategy, using product enhancements and refreshed brand identities to attract younger urban consumers seeking more balanced and refreshing beverage experiences.
