Suntory Oceania marks first year with 252 million beverages produced, strong growth in Australia’s RTD market

Suntory Oceania celebrated its first anniversary by expanding local production, growing its RTD portfolio and investing in sustainability and community initiatives across Australia and New Zealand.

AUSTRALIA – Suntory Oceania has marked its first year of operations in Australia after establishing itself as the country’s second-largest Ready-to-Drink (RTD) supplier while expanding its presence across key beverage categories, including energy drinks and RTD coffee.

During its first 12 months, the company produced more than 252 million cans and bottles in Australia, increased production by 36%, and launched 21 new alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including several zero-sugar options.

The milestone follows the opening of its A$400 million carbon-neutral manufacturing facility in Queensland, which now supports the local production of all the company’s RTD products.

Suntory Oceania has also strengthened its route-to-market capabilities, established new customer partnerships, and expanded its portfolio to more than 40 beverage brands across Australia and New Zealand.

Suntory Beverage & Food Oceania Chief Executive Officer Dai Minato said the company’s first year had been focused on creating a strong foundation for sustainable growth.

“Since our Suntory Oceania go-live 12 months ago, we’ve been pioneering beverage experiences for consumers with our multi-beverage model,” Minato said.

“We have been bringing together our portfolio of aspirational brands, global expertise, and local execution to enrich people’s lives throughout every drinking occasion.”

He added: “We see significant opportunity ahead of us, partnering with our customers and our communities, guided by our commitment to Growing for Good and making a positive contribution for generations to come.”

The company said its diversified portfolio positions it to respond to evolving consumer preferences across both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage categories.

Managing Director of Suntory Global Spirits Oceania Ashish Gandham said the business is well positioned to support customers across retail and hospitality channels.

“As consumer needs continue to evolve, we are well positioned to support customers across both off-premise and on-premise channels,” Gandham said.

“Whether it’s convenient RTD and energy options for everyday occasions or premium spirits for more special moments, our focus is on working alongside customers to deliver the right mix of products, formats and experiences for consumers across every occasion.”

Suntory Oceania has also continued investing in sustainability and community initiatives. During its first year, the company announced long-term partnerships with the Dylan Alcott Foundation and Recreate NZ to support young adults living with disabilities, introduced its global Mizuiku water education programme in Australia, and committed A$1 million to a research partnership with Griffith University’s Australian Rivers Institute to help protect future water resources.
