DeVANS Modern Breweries launches Gingalalahu craft dry gin
The award-winning small-batch gin is rolling out across key Indian markets as DeVANS strengthens its presence in the growing premium craft spirits segment.
INDIA – DeVANS Modern Breweries has expanded its premium spirits portfolio with the launch of Gingalalahu, an Indian craft dry gin, marking the company’s entry into the country’s growing premium gin category.
Crafted in small batches of 200 litres, Gingalalahu is distilled using nine botanicals and bottled at 42.8% ABV. According to the company, the gin contains no artificial flavourings or added sweeteners, with its flavour profile derived entirely from natural botanicals and spices.
Commenting on the launch, Prem Dewan, Chairman and Managing Director of DeVANS Modern Breweries, said, “The launch of Gingalalahu marks an exciting milestone for DeVANS as we enter the premium craft gin category. Consumers are increasingly seeking authentic spirits rooted in craftsmanship and quality. With Gingalalahu, we have created a gin that celebrates carefully selected botanicals and small-batch distillation while reflecting our vision of building premium Indian spirits.”
Ahead of its commercial launch, Gingalalahu received international recognition, winning a Gold Medal in the Super Premium category at the Global Gin Masters 2025.
The gin also secured Silver Medals at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2026, the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) UK 2026, and the World Gin Awards UK 2026.
Spirits expert and author Geraldine Coates also praised the product, describing it as a classic-style gin featuring balanced juniper, citrus and spice notes, complemented by a smooth mouthfeel and a clean finish.
Established in 1961, DeVANS Modern Breweries has continued expanding its premium spirits portfolio, which also includes GianChand Single Malt Whisky.
Gingalalahu is currently available in Jammu, Chandigarh, Gurugram and Goa, with launches planned across Delhi-NCR and Mumbai in the coming weeks, further strengthening the company’s position in India’s premium craft spirits market.
