The new Queensland facility forms part of Asahi Beverages’ nationwide supply chain modernization strategy and is expected to become operational by 2028.

AUSTRALIA – Asahi Beverages has commenced construction of a new A$150 million (US$105.1M) distribution centre outside Brisbane, marking the second phase of its three-part national program aimed at modernising the company’s supply chain network.
The new facility, located within the Redbank Motorway Estate in south-east Queensland, follows the start of construction at Deer Park Estate in Melbourne’s west last year. A third distribution centre is planned for Sydney, with construction expected to begin later this year.
Designed to incorporate advanced automation technologies, the Queensland site will feature a high-speed shuttle system and sophisticated robotics.
The facility is also targeting a 5 Star Green Star rating and will include sustainability initiatives such as one megawatt of solar power, native landscaping and 50,000-litre rainwater tanks for irrigation and amenities.
Strategically positioned, the site is located approximately 15 minutes from both Suntory Oceania’s production facility and ILG’s new distribution centre, enhancing logistics connectivity across the region.
Chief Supply Chain Officer Adrian Benson said the investment demonstrates the company’s continued commitment to local manufacturing and distribution.
“More than 97 per cent of the beverages we sell in Australia are made by us in Australia and the investment in the new Redbank distribution centre further highlights our long-term commitment to Queensland,” Benson said.
“The development will help Asahi simplify our warehousing and distribution network along Australia’s east coast while delivering sustainability benefits via more efficient distribution routes.”
The distribution centre is expected to be fully operational by 2028 and will create around 300 full-time equivalent jobs during the construction phase.
The project is being led by Goodman, which owns the Redbank Motorway Estate, while McNab has been appointed as the builder. Project and supply chain specialists TMX Transform have provided support through network design, property procurement and project management.
“We’re pleased to welcome Asahi as a new, long-term customer to Redbank Motorway Estate,” said Jason Little, CEO Australia at Goodman.
“This site offers outstanding automation and logistics connectivity, providing the essential infrastructure needed to support Asahi’s growth and service across Queensland.”
Ipswich Mayor Teresa Harding welcomed the investment, saying the project would further strengthen the region’s position as a major industrial and logistics hub in south-east Queensland.
