Oman Air launches five new cargo routes in one week to boost Asian connectivity

These additions are intended to meet the growing demand for transporting perishable goods and other high-value, time-sensitive items.

OMAN – Oman Air has launched five new routes in one week, adding Singapore, Tashkent, Sochi, Abu Dhabi and Salalah to its cargo network, as the carrier moves to strengthen connectivity across Asia and the Gulf while supporting growing demand for time-sensitive and high-value shipments.

The expansion, operated with Boeing 737 Max8 aircraft, is designed to give cargo customers greater network access while meeting growing demand for time-sensitive and high-value shipments.

The airline said the new routes include services from Muscat to Singapore (SIN) and Tashkent (TAS), alongside flights to Sochi (AER) and Abu Dhabi (AUH), and a new Salalah (SLL)-Dubai connection.

According to Oman Air, the additional services significantly expand the network available to Oman Air Cargo customers and reinforce the airline’s position across key Asian markets.

Strategic Growth and Cargo Focus

Michael Duggan, Head of Cargo, Oman Air, said: “The five new destinations strengthen the options available to our cargo customers, providing greater connectivity across Asia while supporting the efficient movement of time-sensitive and high-value shipments. We are particularly pleased that the additions further expand Oman Air Cargo’s perishables capability, a key objective of the airline in response to our expanding customer base.”

These additions are intended to meet the growing demand for transporting perishable goods and other high-value, time-sensitive items.

Route Details and Regional Impact

The new Muscat-Tashkent service will operate twice weekly, adding cargo capacity between Oman and one of Central Asia’s fastest-growing logistics markets.

Meanwhile, the new Muscat-Singapore service will operate four times a week, expanding Oman Air Cargo’s reach into one of Asia’s largest air cargo hubs and improving access to Southeast Asian markets and onward global connections.

The Muscat-Sochi route provides access to the Russian market, while the Abu Dhabi and Salalah-Dubai connections strengthen regional connectivity across the Gulf, facilitating smoother trade and more efficient routing for customers throughout the network.

Duggan added: “As trade between Oman and Asia continues to grow, expanding our network enables us to offer customers greater flexibility, improved market access, and more efficient routing options.”

Finally, this growth reinforces the company’s presence in Central and Southeast Asia, facilitating smoother trade and more efficient routing for its customers.
