PepsiCo, Gatik expand autonomous freight partnership across Texas, Arizona, Arkansas

The 98% on-time delivery rate across operations sets a performance benchmark for autonomous refrigerated transport.

UNITED STATES – PepsiCo has partnered with Gatik to integrate autonomous freight technology into its regional distribution networks across Texas, Arizona, and Arkansas, representing the largest commercial deployment of driverless trucks in a consumer goods supply chain.

Gatik is already operating for PepsiCo across three states, delivering autonomous freight at commercial scale inside one of the world’s largest and most demanding consumer goods supply chains.

Regional Network Efficiency and Dynamic Routing

The partnership focuses on PepsiCo’s regional transportation networks, where products move daily between sites. These networks are high-frequency, time-sensitive, and essential to keeping products flowing consistently.

Gatik’s autonomous trucks are designed for end-to-end deliveries on highways and surface streets, with dynamic route-orchestration capabilities for complex regional logistics networks spanning hundreds of pickup and drop-off locations.

This enables PepsiCo to adjust route plans in response to daily operational needs, including adding or removing stops, responding to shifts in demand, and adapting to activity levels across distribution centres. That flexibility helps PepsiCo reduce variability, improve on-time performance, and add capacity without major changes to its existing operations.

Workforce Integration and Commercial Scale

Jim Farrell, Senior Vice President of Supply Chain at PepsiCo, said: “Serving our vast network of customers requires a supply chain that is safe, reliable, and built for the future. Gatik is already operating inside our networks and brings autonomous freight technology, commercial experience, and scale we need to strengthen service, add capacity, and move products more consistently for our customers.”

Gautam Narang, CEO and Co-Founder of Gatik, said: “Autonomous trucking has reached commercial scale when it operates inside one of the most demanding supply chains on the planet. That is what Gatik is doing with PepsiCo. Our autonomous trucks are already moving products every day across Texas, Arizona, and Arkansas, and this partnership is proof that Gatik is becoming central to how the world’s largest companies move goods.”

For logistics investors and fresh produce supply chains, the PepsiCo-Gatik partnership demonstrates how autonomous freight technology is reaching commercial scale in regional distribution networks.

The 98% on-time delivery rate across operations sets a performance benchmark for autonomous refrigerated transport. Dynamic route orchestration enables real-time adjustments for perishable cargo, reducing the risk of spoilage.

This initiative ultimately focuses on modernizing the workforce and improving operational efficiency by adopting advanced robotics in the shipping industry.
